Houston's Original Community Supported Agriculture Farm (CSA)

Although we are Houston's first and largest Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm, we are NOT into being BIG.  We are committed to our CSA Farm Members by serving them the highest quality 100% local food available (under 100 miles).  We recognize the we CANNOT feed ALL of Houston...  Instead, we lead by example by feeding a growing community who is committed with us in restoring our local food system.  For the health of all involved and into the future.

Join us soon... supply is limited and many dropsites fill-up quickly each season!

WHAT IS A CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a direct connection to your farmer.  In support of clean locally produced food we develop a relationship with our community and the land.  We create a unique opportunity for families to receive a weekly share of seasonal produce harvested fresh from the farm.  We share a commitment with our members and hope for a bountiful harvest worth celebrating.

Our CSA is for those committed members who pre-pay for a seasonal supply of produce.  Rather than go to the bank for a loan before each season, we reach out to our community to help cover our cost for seed, organic fertilizers, equipment, labor, etc.  We plan and work the fields to provide the members with an equal share of seasonal produce.  The share of produce is available for pick-up every week during the growing season.  Our members generally love fresh vegetables, and love trying new things.  A lot of what we grow is unique, and not available from the grocery store; and it is certainly A LOT fresher!  Members pre-pay for each season, and although you can discontinue at anytime, WE DO NOT issue refunds.  VIEW CSA POLICY DETAILS >>

We use Farmigo to process our new share members. On Farmigo you will create a unique account, be able to track and make payments, shop in our Farm Store and renew your subscription in a few easy steps! Commitment and payment are on a seasonal basis. We do this because we need to know how many shareholders to grow for. New accounts will be placed on hold for 7 days. This gives us time to process your account. You will receive your share on the closest delivery date for your designated host site after the 7 day hold.  CLICK HERE TO JOIN ONLINE >>

WHAT IS THE COST?

$29 per week on farm pick up, or $32 per week at a Houston drop site, with NO MEMBERSHIP FEES Members join for each season...

WARM SEASON: March - July (18 weeks)

COOL SEASON: October - January (12 weeks)

If you JOIN in the middle of a season, your fee will be pro-rated according to the delivery schedule.  View the Harvest Chart to better understand seasonal availability.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

Members pay in advance to secure their shares, committing directly to the farmer.  We accept payments either by mailed check or eCheck.

WHERE DO WE DELIVER?

This is a community building effort:  In order to keep prices as low as possible, we have organized dropsites throughout the Houston Area to serve the local area within 80 miles from our farm.  These dropsites have become supporting networks of like minded individuals concerned about their family's  health, the local environment and our local economies (that's what a TRUE CSA is all about).  For 30+ weeks during the season we deliver to these locations...

Brenham, Cypress, Spring, The Woodlands, Katy, Houston/Heights, Houston/Breaswood, Houston/Oakforest, Houston/Mid-Town, Sienna Plantation, and more...  contact us for more info... and read on for the details...

WHAT WILL MEMBERS RECEIVE?

You will receive at least 6 to 9 different types of vegetables each week during the growing season. We grow a large variety with a focus on unique and nutritious heirloom vegetables.  Our purpose is to provide the freshest, chemical-free produce harvested fresh for delivery.  View the Harvest Chart  or FAQ to have a better idea of what is seasonally available.

MEMBER'S FARM STORE...

By working with other local farms that are 100% committed to our "righteous food standards", our CSA members can order online sustainably raised grass-fed beef, lamb, pastured poultry, artisan cheeses, eggs, local olive oil, honey and more to be delivered each week with their shares!  Your participation makes an impact to support our local farmers and ranchers!

WHAT IF I’M OUT OF TOWN ONE WEEK?

Please let us know so that we can provide more food for our other members, or we recommend that you find someone who is able to take your share.  The garden still grows and we still need to harvest.  If you so choose, any shares not picked-up will be donated in your name.

THE WAITING LIST...

Each season is planned in advanced and there is limited space available.  Membership is available first-come, first-served until we are full.  If farm membership or a specific drop site is currently full for the season, Sign-up for our CSA Waiting List to be notified when memberships are available.

HOW DO I GET YOUR CSA DELIVERED TO MY COMMUNITY?

We need a host and at least 15 families.  To learn how to develop a drop-site in your community, please read this article... BRINGING LOCAL FOOD TO YOUR COMMUNITY.

“If people let the government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as a sorry state as the souls who live under tyranny.” - Thomas Jefferson

"CSA is not just a clever, new approach to marketing. Community farming is about the necessary renewal of agriculture through its healthy linkage with the human community that depends upon farming for survival."  - Steven McFadden
